2. There was no king in Israel, every man did what he wanted, what was right in their eyes. Israel was at its lowest point in history. There was division (from God) cruelty, civil war and national disgrace. The people turned from God and taught their generations to pray to man made gods.

They would see where she had been and broke the laws of Moses, (her son's marrying these women) and did not give them a chance to come to God. Her testimony was selfish not toward God.

Naomi let her trial become the master and therefore she became bitter.
Orpah escaped from her trial therefore she missed the blessings from God.
